The transliteration of English taffeta contains the meaning of plain fabric. Also known as taff silk, it is a kind of ripe woven high-grade silk fabric woven with plain weave tissue. The warp yarn adopts compound twisted ripe yarn, and the weft yarn adopts parallel single twisted ripe yarn, with plain weave structure as the ground, the fabric density is large, and it is the tightest variety of silk fabric.
Silk fabrics woven from ripe silk. There are many kinds of prime taffe, flower taff, checktaff, flashing taffe, and purple cloud taffe. Flower taffeta is the jacquard fabric in taffeta, the ground pattern is plain weave, and the pattern is eight satin tissues. Due to the tight density of the warp, the pattern is prominent and bright, the texture is firm, light and structured, the color is bright, and the luster is soft, but it is not suitable for folding and heavy pressure. The pattern is generally medium-sized, large, and the flowers are smooth and generous. It is suitable for clothing, umbrella and duck down duvet covers.
Taffeta is characterized by fine and smooth silk surface, flat and beautiful, good luster, tight fabric, hard feeling, but easy to produce permanent creases after wrinkling. Therefore, it is not suitable for folding and heavy pressure, and roll packaging is commonly used.
A silk silk fabric woven with plain tissue from degummed ripe silk from high-quality mulberry silk. The name is derived from the English word taffeta, which means plain silk fabric. The warp thread is made of two colored ripe silk and flicked, and the weft thread is made of three colored ripe silk, the warp and weft filament density is higher and the warp density is greater than the weft density, and the fabric weighs about 58 g/m. The silk surface is tight and fine, flat and smooth, not easy to stain, and is often used as outerwear, duvet sleeve and high-grade umbrella silk. The disadvantage is that creases will occur after folding under heavy pressure. In addition to the traditional mulberry silk taffe, you can also use double palace silk, silk, rayon, nylon silk, etc. as raw materials to weave a variety of imitation silk taffe, or you can use silk and cotton interweaving. Fancy varieties include plain, shimmer, stripe and jacquard.
It is the warp and weft threads of mulberry silk first refined and degummed into smelting silk (ripe silk), and woven with plain weave tissue, also known as cooked goods. There are three kinds of vegetarian taffeta, strip taffe and flower tarfta, which are all traditional varieties famous in the world in China, and are also special varieties of Suzhou and Hangzhou in China. In particular, the tafu silk produced by Suzhou Dongwu Silk Weaving Factory is collectively known as "Tafu King".
